Gallatin High School has a hot rod club that meets every other Thursday. We jumped at the chance to volunteer with the school and help with their 2024 project. They have a 2007 Chevy Silverado doner truck that has a 2wd 6.0/4L80e running gear. Their plan is to take the body off, shorten the late model frame, and set the body of a 1964 Stepside C10 on the 2007. They plan to build a single turbo kit that will help power the LQ4 engine to over 500 wheel horsepower. They are lucky to have a Dynojet chassis dyno in house so we will do all the programming in house on the final build. They have excellent teachers in both the automotive and metals fab classes that will be supporting and facilitating the project. Stay tuned as we help out on the build and spend time with the up and coming generation of mechanics and future hot-rodders!
